“NEVIS NATURALLY”

Nevis is one of the remaining unspoiled places on earth, located about 200miles south east of Puerto Rico, south of St Maarten, West of Antigua and 36 square miles. This island is approximately 6 miles long and 5 miles wide with natural vegetation that is unparallel.

From the top of the 3232foot Nevis Peak created by the only shield volcano in the Caribbean, to the depths of the clear waters offshore, there is a world of flora and fauna to explore. Lush foothills lead up to the tropical rainforest where green vervet monkeys are commonly spotted. Secluded valleys, dotted with historic plantations and the remains of sugar cane fields, welcome visitors with scenic overviews while turquoise waters lap at Nevis’ palm-fringed beaches.

Nevis has attracted many visitors to its shores. Generally marketed as an upscale destination, Nevis appeals to the “well seasoned” traveler, who is willing to pay a “little extra” to get away from it all. The island is blessed by natural beauty and a wealth of history. Due to its unique features, Nevis can be accessed via our hubs of St Maarten, San Juan, Antigua or frequent ferry rides via St Kitts. Nevis does not support a large tourism capacity, but have been able to attract very small and high quality developments and offers superb service.

Visitors to Nevis will not only marvel at the outstanding beauty and world-class accommodations, but also revel in all the fun-filled activities that abound on the island. Whatever your preference, be it sinking in a hammock or a lounge chair at the pool, or on the palm-fringed beaches that circle the island, or sip rum punch at one of the Beach Bar or revel in the local “taste of the island” others can sample an endless selection of activities. Activities include golf, tennis, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, sailing, snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, kayaking and4X4 Wheelers.

The accommodation sector ranges from small, intimate family run guest houses to a five star property, the Four Seasons Resort, the largest on the island. Among these establishments are the unique “Plantation Inns” for which Nevis is most famous. Built on sites of old Sugar Plantations, these properties carries out the themes and concept of the Plantation estate, that is great houses and cottages scattered around the estate. The grounds of these Inns are beautifully landscaped and most are located on the slopes of Nevis Peak amidst lush greenery. There are a number of other events that one can enjoy on Nevis. Its “premiere” festival CULTURAMA is celebrated at the end of July early August every year. This provides an opportunity for lots of revelry, music and food. The Turf and Jockey Club puts on Horse Race once per month and is a specialty among visitors. NICHE- Nevis International Culinary Heritage Exposition is a culinary programmed held in October which includes food demonstrations, rum tastings, and chocolate pairings and beach parties.
